Bio for Scott Porter
A seasoned paranormal investigator, Scott Porter has explored hundreds of the world’s most active haunted locations for the past two decades. As the lead investigator for one of America’s most renowned paranormal groups, Porter has delved into nearly every haunted asylum, prison, and hospital in the country, coming face-to-face with terrifying spirits most people only encounter in their worst nightmares.
Raised in a religious Southern family, Porter recognized at a young age that everyone has had frightening experiences they just can’t explain, and he remembers questioning, “Are these things godly… or evil?” In the years since, he’s worked in law enforcement, healthcare, engineering, and science, while continuing his exploration of humanity’s darker side in disturbingly macabre institutions—and the aggressive hauntings that usually accompany them.
He is also a direct descendant of both Civil War and Revolutionary War captains, as well as Cherokee Chief Uskwa’li-gu’ta (Hanging Maw).
Scott Porter’s past work includes the following hit series:
- Ghost Asylum (Destination America / Travel Channel)
- Ghostland Tennessee (Animal Planet / Destination America)
- Exorcism Live (Destination America)
- Haunted Towns (Travel Channel)
- Haunted Live (Travel Channel / Discovery+)
- Secrets of the Asylum (Fox Nation)
